Atlas Shrugged – Part 1 of A Trilogy - Have you heard about the Atlas Shrugged movie? In this article we are going to talk more about the movie and the book. Those of you that have heard about Atlas Shrugged the movie may or may not have seen the movie. This movie made its debut in more than 300 theaters in 80 cities. This was a big deal and was only possible because of producer Harmon Kaslow, John Aglialoro and a grassroots campaign by Randians. This was no easy tasks to get this movie together and it in fact almost did not happen.
Aglialoro has been trying to make this happen since 1992. In 1992 Aglialoro who is a Haddonfield resident as well as chief executive officer of exercise-equipment makers Cybex International shelled out $1 million to lease the movie rights to Atlas Shrugged by author Ayn Rand.
Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand is a challenging novel that really makes you think. It has inspired millions and frustrated even more people.
Aglialoro said he thought that a major studio would jump at the long-awaited project and that deals even came close but nothing was ever finalized. Since time was running out on the lease he had to make a decision.
What decision did he make? He made the decision to make the film by himself. He took $20 million of his own money and with the help of other Randians like Comcast-Spectacor chairman Ed Snider he assembled an amazing indie movie team.
The team consisted of 250 and the preproduction got started just in time. The film was shot in only six weeks. Kaslow had never been the main man before even though he had been a producer and legal adviser with movies such as Dog Soliders but when John came to him he said “We can do this, we have to do this.”
Harmon Kaslow, the producer of Atlas Shrugged Part 1 told Newsmax that the film was about now. If you would take a look around at what was happening you would see that the film was about now.
Even though the cast of the movie was actors that were not big names it seems that the movie has been expected pretty well with most people. As far as money making it is possible that this aspect could go well also since many of the conservatives may go out and support the movie.
Atlas Shrugged is a trilogy due to the fact that the book was so jammed packed. It would have been impossible to fit all of the action into one little movie.
